PINEY RUN PARK

Piney Run Park, located in neighboring Sykesville, Maryland, features a 300-acre lake as its centerpiece and provides multiple recreational activities such as boat rentals, hiking trails, as well as tennis courts, playgrounds, climbing rock, picnic tables, and comfort stations. The Piney Run Nature Center, Park Office, and six pavilions, which are available to rent during the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons.

Misty Manor adjoins thousands of acres of picturesque Maryland state parkland, with access to many miles of beautiful, wooded trails. Trail rides for experienced equestrians as well as those with little or no riding experience are available. Misty Manor trail rides provide excitement as well as relaxation. Experience the thrill of curving trails alongside cliffs overlooking the streams and woodlands below.

Pedego Electric Bikes offer an entertaining, interesting & educational 90 minute; 8-mile bike tour through different parts of Frederick led by their guides. It’s chock full of historic as well as unusual & fun facts along the way! A great tour for both Frederick locals and out of towners, alike. It’s the perfect way to see Frederick and to experience a Pedego electric bike.

ROPES COURSE

TREE TREKKERS

Tree Trekkers offer 14 different courses all originating from the main start platform, moving in a single direction. Climbers navigate their way through a series of elements/obstacles as they move from platform to platform within the trees. Once climbers complete a course, they can follow the trails back up to the main start platform and choose their next course. Courses increase in height and difficulty level with each color ranging from 10ft-65ft off the ground.

BIRD-WATCHING

AUDREY CARROLL SANCTUARY

The Audrey Carroll Audubon is open to the public and free of charge. The sanctuary includes 129 acres of diverse habitat such as meadows, streams, woodlands, and wetlands. A variety of wildlife management activities are ongoing in part of the sanctuary while other areas are left to natural processes. Through habitat management, education, and research, ASCM strives to preserve these spaces for the benefit of wildlife and people.
