Creative Gift Giving
What would you rather do on a cold winter day: run around from store to store returning or exchanging Christmas presents or sip some wine with your girlfriends or significant other?
Seems like a no brainer, right?
So rather than taking a gamble on whether your mom will like that sweater or trying to guess someone’s size (never ends well) try gifting an event at Linganore instead. Save time and give the gift of an experience this holiday!
Here are a few we have coming up:
Holiday Paint Party: 1-4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 13
Paint your own wine glasses and ornaments with Wonderfully Made4You. A total of $45 per person will get you a glass of wine, an assortment of cheeses, two wine glasses to paint, ornaments, paint and brushes. Additional food and wine will be available for purchase. These will make great, personal presents or a much deserved present for yourself!
Barrel Tastings: noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9 & 30, Feb 6 and 1 and 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 10 & 31
This is your chance to become a Linganore insider. Enjoy of tours of the winery from owner and president Anthony Aellen; sample wines directly from fermentation tanks and oak barrels; and be the first to try yet to be released wines. A $25 fee will get you an hour-long tasting and an antipasto reception.
Intro to Zentangle: 1- 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 17
It’s been called “yoga for the brain,” but unlike actual yoga, you can do it with a glass of wine. Teacher Julie Allison from Harmony Inspired Art will start the first of a series of courses on Zentangle, an art form creating non-directional patterns. For $45, you will get the class, a wine tasting and an assortment of cheeses. Additional wine and food will be available for purchase.
Winterfest: Noon, Sat., Jan. 23
Who says cold weather means staying home in front of the TV? Get ready to dance away the winters blahs with a DJ, and also enjoy some handmade crafts and artwork. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of, if we haven’t sold out yet. This includes a wine or Red Shedman beer tasting and a souvenir glass. Tickets are limited, so buy quickly at www.missiontix.com.
