The start of a great new wine It’s planting time! Linganore Winecellars in Mount Airy has spent the past few weeks planting three new grape varieties, which will ultimately be used for the creation of new wines and updating old favorites. The first new crop is the Albarino, a Spanish white variety. Though this grape is somewhat similar to a Riesling or a Moscato, it actually has more of a dry finish. Cinco De Mayo

You don’t really need an excuse to drink fruity wine and eat Mexican food, but this week you’ve got one! Cinco de Mayo is on Thursday (an excuse in and of itself to celebrate), and you can prepare by picking up a bottle of our sangria. We make two varieties: a traditional red Sangria and Mango. Our traditional Sangria is a red wine aged with citrus fruit. It is delicious served over ice with added peaches, raspberries, strawberries and orange slices. Linganore Wines Win Big

Linganore wines receive eight medals at international competition Mount Airy, Maryland April 7, 2016 Linganore Winecellars is thrilled to announce that our wines were recipients of multiple honors in the 2016 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition. The annual competition was held from March 18-20 in Rochester, New York. Eight wines received medals, with top honors going to our semi-dry white Terrapin, which won Double Gold in the category of White Blend.
